How I Planned a College Reveal Party!
Announcing the college you’ve decided on is an extremely exciting thing to do! We opted to do a College Reveal Party instead of a Graduation Party. Here’s what I did to plan this fun party for my daughter!
What is a College Reveal Party?
A College Reveal Party is a celebration to announce which college has been decided on by your child! Let your guests in on the top 3-5 college choices, let them make guesses, announce in a fun way, and then celebrate together!
Prepare!
Start saving those college tour packets, acceptance letters, scholarship offers, and welcome packets! You’ll want information on the school tables you will set up around your home as party decor!
I used my coffee table and end tables in my living room to display the college information for people to browse through. My daughter’s top four colleges were FSU, UF, FIU, and UNF. I got the college themed fabric from Joanne’s Fabric store to use for the table coverings. I also bought the colored felt and small dowel rods there to make the flags. I printed pics from our college tours and framed them (frames from Dollar Store). I ordered colored M&M’s, a small helium tank, and latex balloons in the school colors off Amazon.
Guest Arrival
When guests arrived they stopped by this table first. Each person voted on which college they thought my daughter decided on by clipping the coordinating clothespin flag onto their shirt. All printed items were made by Paper Party Design Ink! Silver tin buckets from Dollar Store.
Food
I didn’t get great shots of the food, but we went with a college tailgating theme – nacho bar, chicken wings, veggies/chips with dip, and and of course cake!
Announcing the College!
We decided to reveal the big announcement by using a large box filled with colored balloons and smoke!
We played FSU’s school song on a portable speaker while she opened the box and revealed her school choice!
I used a neighbor’s patio furniture box, wrapped it in black wrapping paper, and used gold glittery sticker letters (from Joanne’s) on the front. We filled the balloons with helium and attached them inside the box.
