Chateau Elan Winery & Spa Weekend

Chateau Elan Winery & Spa Weekend

Hereโ€™s all the details of our recent weekend at Chateau Elan where we celebrated my birthday!

Chateau Elan is located in Braselton, GA.

Itโ€™s about 45 minutes north of Atlanta. We are in Tampa, FL so it was a very doable drive. I was excited to learn there was a winery with a luxury resort & spa so close to us! We left early in the morning and were there by lunchtime.

Thank God it was my birthday so I could act even MORE extra than usual haha! Enjoy the moment!

The Winery

Our tour guide (who was also a level 2 sommelier) was super engaging and informative. The grapes grown in Georgia are much different than grapes grown in Napa or Europe! They harvest once a year – typically in the end of Sept or beginning of Oct. The specific grape that grows well in GA is called the muscadine grape!

Our tour started outside by the vines and then moved into the factory room where the wine is made. We learned everything from how the grapes are squeezed to how the wine is bottled – itโ€™s a ton of work! The grape vines are green and luscious before harvest which is in Sept, not Feb! But the property was still gorgeous!

Then came the fun part – tasting all of the wines! I was a huge fan of all the Chateau Elan wines. Our favorite overall was a red blend called Mameli, which we purchased as a souvenir! I must note that Evan only broke one glass during the tasting ๐Ÿฅด.

After the group tour/tasting was over, we added a private 3 wine tasting onto our package. We sat in the winery and devoured a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

Once we had our fill we headed back to the spa!

The Spa

We both booked treatments and had a daily pass to enjoy all of the amenities of the spa.

What exactly does “enjoying the amenities” look like??

Well, we relaxed in the hot tub, drank champagne, lounged in the “quiet room” (a dark room with candles, soft music, and aromatherapy), laid by the pool, drank champagne, sat in the sauna, and Evan got a hot towel facial while I had a hot stone Cabernet pedicure!

Remember to pack your bathing suit! If not, no worries! They offer disposable men’s and women’s suits *cringe*. Both Evan and I rocked the plastic stretchy suits haha! I thought it was kinda cute that we matched.

The girls that work here are so sweet. Teresa brought me champagne while I got ready for dinner (even though my lazy ass could have got it myself from the bar) ๐Ÿฅ‚๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ ๐Ÿ˜˜

The Restaurants & Bars

We never left the property during our stay. Very convenient and several options!

Fleur De Lis

This restaurant is located inside the spa and was actually our favorite place to eat on property! All four things we ordered during our two visits there were phenomenal.

Louis House of Bourbon

We went to Louis House of Bourbon for drinks and an appetizer where we ate the best pretzel of our life! No lie! The waitress went downstairs to the kitchen just to ask the chef how the house mustard is made for Evan. If you follow him on instagram you know why he asked this (if you don’t: @backyard_bourbecue).

There was a shuffleboard game and a few pool tables to keep us entertained. The place was spacious with plenty of nooks to hang out in.

Versailles

We had dinner at Versailles located in the atrium. Beautiful location and the drinks were flowing, but we opted for the set menu buffet offered and it was just ok. Not sure if it was an off night for them or what, but that’s what we experienced.

Wine and games by the fire capped the night off nicely at Versailles. So sweet to just walk up the big staircase (or take the elevator!) right to your room afterwards.

Marc Bar & Restaurant

This is where we went for my “official birthday dinner”! I love having a reason to get all dressed up and this place was a gorgeous setting.

It’s hard to not be sort of picky with food when you have my husband as a cook at home, so I’m not saying the food was bad here lol, I’m saying it was fine. And I hate when my husband says I look fine when I ask his opinion of how I look so this isn’t a compliment – but apparently it isn’t an insult either according to Evan.

I didn’t come here “for the food”, but I will say we had plenty of good food to eat and choose from, we were sometimes very impressed and sometimes not, it was always very special and beautiful, and we can be food snobs – there I said it.

There’s a coffee shop and bakery on property too called La Petit. Which also sells wine/champs ๐Ÿ˜‰ Can’t drink all day if you don’t start in the morning – Drake

Three days and two nights was the perfect amount of time to spend at the spa, winery, and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I would definitely recommend visiting to my friends. I think this is a perfect spot for couples and girls trips. I canโ€™t wait to go back!

They have numerous activities you can book while at the resort. Each activity is based on the date of travel so check it out on their website! www.chateauelan.com.

I was cheesin all weekend!
